Indistinguishable compressed agarwood prayer beads. Terrifying!
With the rapid advancements in technology, many counterfeit agarwood products have reached a high level of sophistication!
I cannot possibly explain how to distinguish them all... Currently, the final stage of counterfeiting agarwood often involves making agarwood prayer beads or necklaces.
Now, even raw agarwood (white wood) with fewer oil lines can be directly compressed into heavy, floating agarwood.
This isn't done by shaving or pulverizing; instead, it involves directly compressing light, slightly oily, and coarse-fibered driftwood.
The insufficient amount is then injected with agarwood oil (depending on the seller's level of simulation—whether real or fake agarwood oil is added). This results in a natural appearance, sinking in water, and a heavy feel!
Below is an example of compressed logs that the seller has already cut into prayer beads.
